Counselling Style Style
I practice as an integrative therapist, holding sessions tailored to the client and what they bring to the session. When working with young people I am happy to engage in creative therapy, play therapy and sand-tray work, amongst other types of therapy, where this is appropriate. Being able to describe emotions and feelings through words is not something that we will always focus on, I believe that the behaviours and actions stemming from the internal thoughts and experiences can also be very insightful. I like to use guided imagery and mindfulness, at times when this feels beneficial to the client.
I provide a wide range of resources that can be adapted to the client's level of ability and enjoyment, whilst also taking into consideration their individual lived experience.
If you would like more information or would like to work with a particular modality of therapy, please drop me a message and we can discuss this further.
I have experience of working in schools and with people living with Special Educational Needs or challenging behaviours. I believe that there are blurred lines between disabilities, learning difficulties, poor behaviour and mental health; I take this into consideration when working with my clients.
Upon request, I am able to provide individual written reports for my clients or for any professional working with them.
