About me...t me

Hi, I'm Kate. I live in North Oxfordshire with my family and our dog, Lola. I have always had a passion to help and care for others and also to work with children and young people. After becoming a parent, I returned to education as a mature student, with the initial idea of becoming a teacher. Upon completion of my undergraduate degree and gaining a 2:1 in Education Studies, I decided to continue studying within higher education, however at that point had a change of heart and mind and decided to work towards achieving a counselling qualification. This was as a result of having a very positive experience of personal therapy over a number of years and feeling drawn to working in a similar capacity with others. The post graduate diploma has given me the tools and knowledge required to work as a Counsellor. Although I specialise in working with children and young people, I am also able to work alongside adult clients.

With 600+ hours of counselling experience, I feel confident that I am able to offer a space that allows the client to present themselves just as they are, without judgement or bias. I feel strongly about allowing people time in a place where they can be heard and seen, as I'm very aware that this is something that people struggle with in their every day lives.

For anybody dealing with their own mental health, or that of another person, please know that you are not alone and your concern is not minor. Worries and concerns come in all shapes and sizes, they truly are shaped by you and your personal life experience.

I regularly work with children and young people, occasionally in school settings, however I also work with adults of any age and am happy to see them at mutually convenient times during the day or evening.

I promote and value respect, empowerment, diversity, equality, inclusion and confidentiality. These are themes that are acknowledged and carefully balanced within my sessions.
